July 2015 Admissions & Updates

A female hedgehog was admitted with wounds caused by a strimmer and then had six babies at the hospital. As you can see they are all doing great!

The Herring Gull chicks that were admitted to HART in July are off to the Brent Lodge Wildlife Hospital  to a join a flock for later release. Thanks for taking them guys!

July was another month for baby hedgehogs that have been found out during the daytime. As they are nocturnal animals, it is a sign that they are not doing well, and need picking up immediately. They are very vulnerable to fly strike, which if not caught quickly can be fatal, so place them in a high sided box indoors so flies cannot get to them, and call a rescue for advice and help.
