There are over 80 volunteers working for the charity in a variety of ways … and more would be welcome. In particular we always need help at the hospital with the day to day care of our patients which involves feeding and cleaning out cages, aviaries and hutches. We are also looking for people to help with fundraising, whether that is manning a stall at a show, or organising a sponsored event.
Don't forget we are also looking for reliable and enthusiastic volunteers to help at our shops in Alton. If you have one or more mornings/afternoons available each week then please contact us with your details.
If you are over 16 years old and would like to volunteer, or want to know more, please contact us or complete the volunteer enquiry form.
Please see our vacancies page for further details of current specific volunteering vacancies.
We always need volunteers who have transport to pick up any casualties in an emergency. Usually the animal
has already been caught by the person who found it and just needs to be transported to the hospital ASAP for treatment. People who can carry out casualty collections ensure animals can reach the hospital for treatment quickly, and also enables our animal care specialists can concentrate on treating the animals at the hospital, so it is an extremely valuable way to volunteer.
If you would like further information or want to add your name to our list, please contact us.
We are constantly on the look out for quiet, safe release sites well away from hunting, shooting and fishing areas. If you have land or a large garden that would fit the bill please get in touch.
