Welcome -------------------==-------------------------------------------------------------------cba

HART Wildlife Rescue is a registered charity whose main aim is to relieve the suffering caused to wildlife and to provide a rescue, treatment and rehabilitation service.

There is no doubt that without HART’s existence many of these animals and birds would suffer a long and painful death, or be unnecessarily put to sleep.

Happily, about half make a full recovery and are returned to the wild.

----------

The centre deals with around 1,000 casualties every year and has just moved to new purpose-built premises near Medstead in North East Hampshire with much more space and better facilities. We also have 2 charity shops, one in Alton and one in Andover.

We are now fundraising to further develop our outside facilities for large mammals, water birds, and birds of prey and to build a study centre so we can expand our educational services.

Please help us if you can by making a donation and giving our wildlife a helping hand, or, by assisting on a voluntary basis. Details of how you could help are on the Vacancies page.

Tawny chicks are looking for sponsors!

THREE tawny chicks have already been brought in this year from different areas. Despite one of them having severe trichomoniasis and another being anorexic, all three are now fit and healthy and growing up fast.

The chicks will need to be kept at HART for six months, at which point they will be mature enough to be released into the wild. This is a long-term commitment, but one that we will now be able to see right through to the end due to the increased facilities at the new hospital at Medstead.

It is estimated that rearing each chick will cost in the region of £100 – just to keep them food and medication. If you would like to help HART cover these expenses, please forward your donation and tell us that it is especially for the birds of prey. This might make an extra special birthday present for someone!

Any additional funds raised will be put towards building a pre-release flight enclosure at the site. This new facility will enable the birds to build-up their strength prior to release.
