Our current facility has been a wonderful haven for wildlife for more than 10 years. During this time its reputation has grown enormously and admissions are now running at around 1000 a year.
Sadly, the space to expand more does not exist and the hospital is frequently forced to close to new admissions because there simply isn’t the room to look after them properly. This is very unsatisfactory as we know that it inevitably means that the injured or abandoned animal or bird will be put to sleep as there is nowhere else for it to go.
To alleviate this problem we are planning to build a new wildlife hospital and education centre. We have the offer of an ideal site, also in Overton, architect’s drawings and planning approval. All we need now is the money to build it.
This will involve a concentrated effort of fundraising, in addition to the all the activities we are already involved in, to maintain and run the present facility.
We are busy applying for grants from various trust funds and hope we will be successful. If you know of anyone we should approach we would be pleased to hear from you.
Donations of any amount are always welcome. If you would like to support our work or donate your skills please go to our Support HART section. |
